We are happy to welcome Giannis Gkountinakis as a new founding member of KAR AI, joining the technical side of the founding team.
Who Giannis is
Giannis studies Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia. He is a software developer who works across the full stack with Angular, Spring Boot and PostgreSQL, and he is comfortable building REST APIs.
Hands-on experience
Giannis spent two summers as a Software Developer at Starttech Ventures in Athens, in 2024 and 2025. In his second internship he built a new feature for an admin page, owning the data flow from the database all the way to what the user sees on screen.

A product like that only works when every layer fits together, from the data underneath to the screen in front of the driver. Giannis has already worked on connecting those layers, and we are glad to have him on the technical side from the start.
