KAR AI is no longer just one person building car research tools after school hours. Today, the company is welcoming Evangelia Vournazou as a Founding Member — its first step from a solo project into something built by more than one set of hands.

Since it launched in 2025, KAR AI has grown from a simple premise — that buying a car deserves research as rigorous as the decision itself — into a working platform used by drivers researching their next purchase across Greece and beyond. Getting there meant one person doing nearly everything: writing the recommendation logic, testing every tool by hand, answering questions directly. Meet Evangelia Vournazou

Evangelia Vournazou joins KAR AI with a background rooted in motorsport and student engineering competition. She was a member of Athena Racing, an all-female Greek student team that competed in the F1 in Schools World Championship, where she served as the team's Sponsorship Manager. Athena Racing's work was recognised with the FIA Women in Motorsport Award, and in October 2023 the team was invited to meet Greece's then Deputy Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Maria-Alexandra Kefala, as part of a broader conversation about encouraging girls into STEM and motorsport fields that have historically been male-dominated.

That background — competing internationally in a discipline that blends engineering, presentation, and partnership-building — connects naturally with what KAR AI is trying to do: bring rigour and structure to how people understand cars, instead of leaving the decision to guesswork or a dealership pitch.

Why This Matters for KAR AI

KAR AI has operated under an unusual constraint since day one: no external budget, and a stack built almost entirely on free-tier infrastructure. Under those conditions, growth has depended entirely on what one person can personally build and maintain. Adding a Founding Member changes that math — not by adding headcount for its own sake, but by starting to build the kind of team a serious, long-term automotive research platform actually needs.

KAR AI isn't assigning Evangelia a fixed job description on day one. As a Founding Member, her role will take shape as she gets involved — a deliberate choice, and one that reflects how the company has grown so far: doing the work first, then formalising it.
